Square Sky and Circle Earth: A Modern Interpretation of Traditional Oriental Culture

The Circle sales center is a testament to the designer's creativity and ability to blend traditional cultural elements with contemporary design. The exterior wall of the building takes on a square shape, symbolizing the sky, while the interior space features a prominent circle motif, representing the earth. This juxtaposition of shapes creates a visual and conceptual harmony, showcasing the designer's deep understanding of traditional oriental culture.

One of the standout features of this design is the use of circles in various sizes to form the interior space layout. The sand table in the center of the building serves as the focal point, with circles of different sizes radiating outwards to complement the overall space. This thoughtful arrangement not only adds visual interest but also creates a complete and dimensional experience for visitors, including a VIP meeting area.

Transparent wired glass is used in the interior cone of the steel structure, providing a boundary that is both visually striking and transparent. This clever use of materials enhances the overall aesthetic appeal of the space and creates a sense of openness and connection with the surrounding environment.

With a total area of 1200 square meters, the Circle sales center is a testament to the designer's meticulous attention to detail and commitment to creating a unique and immersive experience. The design process involved extensive 3D modeling to ensure that the spatial relationships between people and the building were accurately represented.

Completed in 2019 in Chengdu, China, the Circle sales center stands as a testament to the designer's ability to transform traditional concepts into contemporary design masterpieces. By incorporating the philosophy of Square Sky and Circle Earth, Kris Lin has created a space that not only showcases his creative vision but also pays homage to the rich cultural heritage of the region.
